Sending messages

Sendrelay is not affiliated with SMSGlobal or GoHighLevel.

Sending works through a separate channel in the GoHighLevel conversations composer. This guide explains which messages go through your SMSGlobal account and which stay on GoHighLevel's own SMS lane.

The Sendrelay SMS channel

The app adds a channel called Sendrelay SMS to the conversations composer. When you write a message, choose Sendrelay SMS to send it through your SMSGlobal account. The message leaves from your default sender number, SMSGlobal bills your account at your rate, and the delivery status updates on the message in the conversation.

Your existing SMS channel keeps working exactly as before. It keeps billing through GoHighLevel's built-in phone system until you change your location's default, so you can run both side by side and switch message by message.

What stays on GoHighLevel's lane in v1

Workflow "Send SMS" actions use GoHighLevel's built-in phone system, not Sendrelay. In v1 the app covers messages you send by hand from the conversations composer. If a message must go out at your SMSGlobal rate today, send it from the composer.

Segments and billing

SMSGlobal bills per segment, and a message longer than 160 characters splits into multiple segments. The per segment price on your SMSGlobal rate plan is what you pay, and the app fee does not change with how much you send. You can see your rate and your usage in the SMSGlobal MXT portal, and that portal is the source of truth for your message costs.

Failed sends and retries

If SMSGlobal rejects a message, the app marks it as failed with the reason and never retries it on its own. A rejected message is not retried because a blind retry can bill you for duplicate segments. When you see a failed message, read the reason, fix the cause, and send a new message. Troubleshooting covers the reasons you are most likely to see, including the content filter rejection.

MMS

MMS is not supported in v1. If you try to send one, it arrives as a failed message with a note that MMS is not supported.
