Install and connect
Sendrelay is not affiliated with SMSGlobal or GoHighLevel.
This guide takes you from installing the app to sending your first message. You need an SMSGlobal account before you start, because the app sends through your account and SMSGlobal bills you directly.
Before you start
You need three things from your SMSGlobal account:
- Your API key and secret. You can find both in the SMSGlobal MXT portal under the API settings.
- A sender. This can be an SMSGlobal virtual or dedicated number, or a phone number you have verified with SMSGlobal. Only a virtual or dedicated number can receive replies into GoHighLevel, so read Replies and delivery receipts before you choose.
- An account that is allowed to send. If your SMSGlobal account is new, read the next section before you go any further.
New SMSGlobal accounts
New accounts on the Freestyle tier can only send to their own verified numbers until SMSGlobal lifts the limit, and credit purchases can sit in a manual review. Both are normal for a new account, and only SMSGlobal can clear them. Contact SMSGlobal support and ask them to lift the send limit and to approve your credit purchase, and do this before you plan to go live.
Install the app
- Open the GoHighLevel App Marketplace and find SMSGlobal Bridge.
- Install the app to your sub-account. The install asks for permission to send messages and manage conversations on your behalf.
- Open the app's Settings page from the left menu in your sub-account.
Connect your SMSGlobal account
- On the Settings page, paste your SMSGlobal API key and secret.
- Save. The app validates the key and secret against your SMSGlobal account before it stores them, so a typo fails immediately instead of failing your first send.
- Pick your default sender number from the list. The list shows the senders on your SMSGlobal account.
Your credentials are stored encrypted, and the app uses them only to send your messages and read your delivery data.
Set up delivery receipts and replies
Two addresses in the SMSGlobal MXT portal finish the setup. The Settings page shows both values for your location.
- Copy the delivery receipt URL from the Settings page. In MXT, open your account's delivery receipt settings and paste the URL at account level. Each location gets its own URL, so repeat this for every location you connect.
- If you send from a virtual or dedicated number and want replies in GoHighLevel, copy the inbound webhook URL from the Settings page. In MXT, open the number's settings and paste the URL there. The inbound URL is set per number, not per account.
Replies and delivery receipts explains what each one does and what to expect.
Send a test message
Open a conversation in GoHighLevel, choose the Sendrelay SMS channel in the composer, and send yourself a message. If the send fails, Troubleshooting covers the common causes.
